Trusting God

The thing that hit me between the eyes, when I started 60/60, was that I had shrunk God down to a very small size, about 1 inch cube, and I had my 'god' neatly tucked in there and I was going to handle all the rest myself. He wasn't big enough or powerful enough to be trusted. He wasn't giving me what I wanted so I was going to take care of it without Him. How ridiculous is that?

So I realized I had a clinched fist around a whole bunch of things I wouldn't let go of. So I opened my hand and said, "God, please forgive me for taking over your job. There is only ONE God and that is you and not me.
I'm turning all the things over to you and you can control the outcome of all of them. I'm going to believe that you know better than me and you know what is good for me and what isn't. Help me to go forward with you and not without you, just like you told Joshua when he was to lead Israel into the promised land. You showed up, not to take sides, but to take over. Lord, I want you to take over in my life, please. Thank you that my sins, which are many, are under the blood of Jesus, the Passover Lamb, Joshua5:15.
